An independent, informational office.
Wertpapierinstitut publishes plain-language guidance on financial consumer protection and out-of-court dispute resolution. We are not a court, regulator, law firm or claims agency, and we do not charge for the information we publish.
What Wertpapierinstitut is — and is not
We were founded to close an information gap: many consumers do not know how financial complaint procedures work, which body to approach, or what documentation is typically required. Our role is limited to explaining that landscape clearly and neutrally.
We do not represent consumers or financial institutions in proceedings, we do not issue binding decisions, and we do not offer paid consulting, legal advice or investment recommendations of any kind. Where a visitor needs formal representation or a binding ruling, we direct them to the relevant public authority or recognised out-of-court settlement body.
How we work
Neutrality
Our published material does not favour any bank, broker, insurer or claims service. We describe procedures as they generally exist, not as marketed by any provider.
No cost to consumers
Every page on this website is free to access. We do not sell subscriptions, premium guidance, or case-handling services.
Plain language
We translate regulatory and procedural language into explanations a non-specialist reader can follow, and link onward to official sources for anything binding.
